Christmas on McConnell
Christmas is very nearly here so what better way to start the celebrations than for the MRA community get together at McConnell Reserve from 4.30 on wards on December 15th.
Over 30 people attended on a beautiful if slightly breezy Friday evening, plus over 10 children who were making the most of the facilities. It was a most relaxing and enjoyable occasion.
At one point one local took me to the centre of the road and showed me the view to the coast and there was the John Dowie Tjilbruke Monument beautifully framed between the pine trees at Kingston Park. Sowing that this spot has views of a grand scale and a micro scale for all to enjoy.
Bring yourselves and families with drinks, food to share and chairs [small fold away table if you have one.
It was also of interest that Marion Council have erected a new sign for the reserve on the Western side ...we all took that as a very positive move and symbolic of Councils commitment to both sides of the reserve?
Never been there? Straight up Jervois Terrace and turn left into McConnell Ave when you get to the top, stop and enjoy this special place with its spectacular views.
Merry Christmas to all......pssst this is a great spot to watch the fireworks on new years eve, with good shade and a BBQ on hand.
