Hello residents and community members,
My name is Darren BAILHACHE, I am the Area Coordinator of Neighbourhood Watch Area 266 in Marino, Marino Rocks and Kingston Park.
The second half of the year has been a busy period for the Neighbourhood Watch Committee. In addition to the relaunch of the newsletters, community forum survey, the AGM and Community meeting, you may have also noticed the phase one role out of the new Neighbourhood Watch Signs.

On the 9th of October, our AGM and a general meeting was held at Kingston House.
The following community members were elected to your Neighbourhood Watch Committee.
Area Coordinator - Darren BAILHACHE
Secretary - Marilyn SUMNER
Treasurer - Tim HOOPMANN
Minutes Secretary - Fran SOUTHERN
Property Officer - Gavin BREESE
Committee Member - Peter HALL
The general meeting concluded with an award presentation for two of our local community members.
Mr Peter HALL received the Neighbourhood Watch 30 year Certificate of Service. Peter has been a valuable member of our committee, both as the Newsletter Editor and member spanning three decades. He has been both a loyal and dedicated member of our team and continues to serve on the committee.
Fran LOVELL and the team at Historic Kingston House were awarded the 2022 Neighbourhood Watch Certificate Of Appreciation for hosting and supporting the Neighbourhood Committee for more than a decade.

About Us
Neighbourhood Watch SA is a community crime prevention program delivered by the Neighbourhood Watch Volunteers Association of SA Inc. in partnership with South Australia Police (SAPOL).
The vision of Neighbourhood Watch SA is to create a safe and connected community.
This will be achieved by:
Evidence suggests that an active Neighbourhood Watch program can reduce crime by 16-26%. So we’re confident the program works!
Led by local volunteers, Neighbourhood Watch Areas exist across the state. They each have a focus on driving the Neighbourhood Watch SA vision in their local community. They do this by focusing on the interests and needs of their local community.
The Marino / Marino Rocks and Kingston Park Neighbourhood watch area is called Area 266.
A newsletter is published Quarterly with a crime summary and is hand delivered to every household in our community. You may also request an electronic copy delivered free to your inbox, by emailing on the email address listed below.
Some very useful advice and information on all aspects of community and home safety can be found on the SA Police Safer Communities page of the www.police.sa.gov.au website. In particular check the headers
In addition to the above, two other very useful and specific sites are scamwatch.gov.au and cyber.gov.au Scams are increasing at alarming rates with a record $851 million in losses in 2020. Whilst the highest reported losses are still experienced via bank transfers, phone scams have increased dramatically now accounting for 48% of all contact methods and email coming second at 22%. Do not follow any suspicious or non requested instructions via phone or email.. Check scamwatch for the latest scams, advice and help.
