29 July 2017 The captivating smell of spiced chai tea & mulled red wine wafted into the foyer & beckoned! An energetic committee had transformed the Community Hall into an intimate & eclectic venue, ready to showcase a fabulous evening of live music, local feature info, food & fun!
As part of the Marino Residents Association 70th year activities, we partnered the Marino Community Garden in " A COMMUNITY MUSIC NIGHT ! " Whether scoffing a savoury scone & soup , devouring cake & chai, or mulling over that "more please" warming wine, 80 people including local MP David Speirs & 3 Councillors from Holdfast Bay, chatted, viewed our suburbs' features at the "Marino Roxy" or was that "Rocksy", perused the plant stall, bid on the silent auction & supported the raffle & community guest speakers. As for the music, we were superbly entertained by the fabulous, folksy, guitar strumming FORTE ! What a talent!! That " Voice " turned plenty of heads & far more than the usual 4 chairs!! Approximately $1400 was raised as much needed support for the evolving Marino Community Garden. It was a relaxing, warm & worthy way for our community to spend a wonderful, wintery Saturday night!
