![]() Emma Sandery of Seacliff was awarded with the Active Citizenship Award by the City of Holdfast Bay at the 2021 Australia Day ceremony. Emma is an active and inspiring member of our community and is the person behind the Seacliff Community Produce Swap event. The Seacliff Community Produce Swap is a monthly gathering for people to share homegrown produce and homemade things, bringing community together and encouraging people to grow more food locally. Emma also manages, with co-admin Saskia, a ‘Buy Nothing’ Facebook group to encourage people to share, swap, give-away or lend their items for free, to boost community engagement and connection while also reducing the items going into landfill. Emma cares about the environment, about doing what we can to reduce our environmental impact, reduce waste, buy less stuff, grow more food, all while bringing people together and enjoying this great local community.
