Updates for the Kingston Park Masterplan

The regular adult pair of Seacliff Hooded Plovers have nested again, just north of Shoreham Rd. Two eggs have been laid. Estimated hatching date is 21st September.

The City of Holdfast Bay is running a 12 month trial with 1,000 households who elect to have their green food and organics waste bin collected weekly and red landfill bin collected fortnightly.

The Plan, including a proposed 2.4 % rate increase, was endorsed and released for community consultation, which closed on 24 June. We made a submission and will attend the Council workshop on 14 July.

The City of Holdfast Bay Environment Strategy was approved in March 2020. It uses strong and powerful language regarding the need for urgent, community wide action in order to reduce climate emissions and create a truly environmentally sustainable future (both locally and globally). The phrase "towards and beyond environmental sustainability" was apt.
